MELBOURNE PREPARE FOR GALAXY

Melbourne Victory have been under a lot of pressure in recent weeks. The recent loss to Newcastle Jets only managed to add fuel to the fire. However, the friendly match against LA Galaxy has provided the perfect tonic for the team as they prepare to face Adelaide United.

Another loss to Adelaide United would see the team come under intense pressure, but the victory against LA Galaxy has pacified fans at least for now. Winger Marco Rojas has been one of the players to come under criticism of late after failing to fulfil his potential. Even though he is immensely talented, his confidence seems to be at an all-time low.

Without proper confidence, Marco Rojas has not been able to deliver the supply to the strikers. Perhaps, the friendly match against LA Galaxy would be a perfect opportunity for Marco Rojas to show that he is back to his best.

Following the defeat to Newcastle Jets, Melbourne Victory star Harry Kewell criticised the referee for his obnoxious performance. “Disappointed because I thought we could have had a penalty. We all make mistakes but I thought the referee got it wrong. We should have had a penalty and the guy could have got sent off,” Durakovic said after the game.

Durakovic also conceded that he must win in the next three matches in order to have a realistic chance of staying in the job. There have been calls to sack the manager, but everything will be determined in the next three matches according to manager Durakovic. The fact that these three matches are at home is probably the best aspect for Durakovic, whose side can capitalise on the home advantage. If they do not repeat the mistakes they made against Newcastle, Durakovic pointed that they would be fine.
