KEWELL ISN’T MISSED

It seems that the Melbourne Victory manager Ange Postecoglou has forgotten the loss of the former Liverpool midfielder Harry Kwell, who decided to quit the Australian club in order to return to England (due to health issues of his wife according to the liverpool fanzine Anfield Roar).  It seems the Champions League winner will not be missed too much at Melbourne.

This is because the former Brisbane Roars manager has praised the acquisition of Marcos Flores, who is the latest player to arrive at the club. Ange Postecoglou was given the task of taking Melbourne Victory back to the top of the table. He arrives as the four-time Championship winning manager and will be hoping to win the title with his new club this season.

Prior to the start of the new season, though, the departure of the former Liverpool midfielder has come as a major blow to the club. However, they have secured the signature of another marquee signing in the form of Marcos Flores, who is a perfect fit for the club according to the manager. The 26-year-old is coming into the team at just the right age according to the manager. Marcos Flores is a tall midfielder, who also has the ability to score goals. This makes his arrival extremely crucial because of the need for goals from the centre of midfield.

”He’s one of the first I tried to bring in but at the time he hadn’t really got himself out of China and it was looking like it might have been difficult. But the way things transpired with Harry Kewell not renewing with us obviously there was a vacancy there and it was perfect … and it kind of all fell into place. I guess I’m a little bit blessed in that way. If you’d asked me what my initial targets were I’d have said Marcos Flores and Mark Milligan were at the top of the list,” Postecoglou said yesterday.
